In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott talk to Siimon Sander—Founder and CEO of Oscar Hamilton, a company that offers podcast production and editing services.

Siimon is also the host of the Entrepreneur Decoded podcast and has interviewed over a hundred successful entrepreneurs.

Today we talk about the lessons Siimon learned from a failed business and the one lesson he learned from his dad that could be a good example for us all.

-The biggest lesson I took from my dad was, treat people kindly and don’t expect anything in return.

We also delve deep into the importance of having goals to work towards, even when you’ve “made it“, because it can always go away tomorrow.

A few things to keep in mind as you grow your business:

  • Leisure is a perk, not a goal
  • Keep your ego in check
  • Don’t be attached to success
  • Always keep growing and learning
  • Last but not least, ENJOY what you do!
Problems are not unsolvable, you just have to be aggressive with them. Click To Tweet

Plus, listen in for Siimon’s answer to: Of all the people you’ve interviewed on Entrepreneur Decoded, what three people would you pick to come to a dinner party at your house and what would you talk about?

How To Train Your Brain To Grow Your Business

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott talk to Dana Wilde—TheMindAware.com.

Dana is the best-selling author of Train Your Brain: How to Build a Million Dollar Business in Record Time and host of the Mind Aware Show.

She took two businesses to a million in revenue in just 19 months. Today she talks to us about training our brains to grow our businesses, and it all starts with a simple mantra. By repeating that mantra 20-30 times a day, it opens up your mind’s awareness to see things that you might not have seen otherwise.

Dana explains that brain scientists estimate that we are walking around in an unconscious state 95% to 99% of the day. And if you can get more aware as little as half a percent of the day, you’re going to start to see tremendous change in your life.

When you think positive thoughts it ultimately gets you fired up and you take smarter actions. Click To Tweet

Dana delves into the reticular activating system—A matchmaker in your head that listens to what you think and talk about and then matches them together, bringing them into your awareness.

Her 4 step process that helps open your mind to positive change:

  • Step 1—the most important, is waking up and being aware.
  • Step 2—deciding what message you want match.
  • Step 3—talking about the current situation in a way that feels good. So you’re changing the script.
  • Step 4—feel good.

Does this positive talk and thinking really work?

Listen in as Dana gives examples of how we already use the reticular activating system in our daily lives now. Plus, she gives us a 72 hour exercise to test her theory.

TIP OF THE WEEK

Mark: Learn more about Dana by going to her website at MindAware.DanaWilde.com.

Scott: Check out the app Lingbe—an app that allows you to practice a language with native speakers anywhere.
