Bruce Wehner is a Financial Advisor and the Chief Cash Flow Strategist for The Money Advantage. Scott: A lot of times you get this PDF document and you have to make some edits to it. If you don’t have a PDF editor on your computer, go to a little website called cloudconvert.com. Upload your file, you can edit to your heart’s content and download it. 

Rachel: Go read the book The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason. It’s super easy to read but I love that it is very foundational, financial principles and it starts with Set thy Purse to Fattening. It is the idea of paying yourself first and if you are building that foundational savings, have it. You’re really going to set yourself, head and shoulders above anything, any other strategy. It’s really focusing on what financial principle do I want in place in my life. After you have a principle then you can have a strategy to accomplish your goals, and then look at the tactics or the financial products. That is where the book can start laying out the foundational principles for you.

Bruce: My tip is, to consume everything you possibly can consume from Dan Sullivan Strategic Quotes because Dan’s whole mindset is about wanting to set your life up so that you’re in a business setting whether as an employee or as a business owner or investor. You want to set your whole life up where you’re taking your own abilities so you never need to retire. Because as Dan says, when you look at the word retire means take out of service, so you’re no longer useful. It’s not about building wealth, it’s about if you have a dollar what is the best thing you can do with it that will actually lead to more fulfillment and happiness, and it’s all based on research.

The Simple Path to Wealth: Your Road Map to Financial Independence and a Rich, Free Life by JL Collins is the single-best primer I’ve read that matches my philosophy for how one would use the public markets to build wealth. It explains compounding interest on how we retire on passive income in more detail than I’ve ever read before. Another great book is The Psychology of Money: Timeless lessons on wealth, greed, and happiness by Morgan Housel, it’s mental tricks about money that we can fall prey to or we can take advantage of. It’s deeply-researched, wonderfully written.

Even with my own book, I think that’s probably one of the best resources that I could point to your audience.

You can check the book on Amazon by John Mullins and Randy Komisar. It’s a ton of great stories about large companies where they have a pivot and getting really creative about it. I think people who get out of the book start to think very creatively about what needs to change in order to become a scalable business model.

Scott: My tip is a book, I love this book and the concept, it’s called Who Not How: The Formula to Achieve Bigger Goals Through Accelerating Teamwork by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy. Basically, the gist of this book is, there are many times as entrepreneurs we take it all to ourselves to figure out how to go-do something and when you go to the process and start doing it you keep on thinking “How am I going to do? How am I going to do it?” But what happens in large companies, when the CEO sets a vision, the CEO doesn’t say “How am I going to do this?” the CEO says, “Who within our organization’s going to do this”. If you’re focusing on HOW in your business, you’re focusing on the wrong approach. Start thinking about WHO. This book lays out a foundation and a framework to help you do just that.

Ravi: I usually just tell people there’s going to be a little broad, for some reason you’re not going to come pay me, you’re not going to come to pay somebody else. The majority of their answers are going to be found on YouTube, I spend probably 1 Hour a day learning something new on YouTube. I just want to challenge everybody here, whatever course you have or whatever you’re thinking you want to do, hiring someone or firing someone just look it up on YouTube and see if the answer is there for you. A lot of times you’ll see the answer you’ve been looking for.
