On this week’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott welcome international coach, author, and entrepreneur Axel Meierhoefer to the show.

Axel Meierhoefer is an experienced international coach, author, lecturer, training facilitator, and business consultant. He is a retired Air Force officer who served 22 years as an instructor and later became the executive director of ISG at Isera Group LLC, a software company in Santa Barbara, California.

Axel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation and Management from Hamburg College in Germany, a Masters degree in Organizational Management from Antioch University in Santa Barbara, California, and a Ph.D. in Leadership from Antioch University in Columbus, Ohio. 

Axel is the owner and managing director of a consulting company – AMC LLC, where he utilizes his decades of experience which specialize in four focus areas: Project Management, Facilitation and Teaching, Learning Design and Implementation, and Coaching. He is also the creator of Ideal Wealth Grower, an educational platform that helps people generate passive income with residential real estate investing. Today, he shares his system for achieving economic independence through the IWG platform and mentoring program.

It gave me a huge amount of input, and anybody who’s looking about how I can get my mindset, approach, and my thinking about wealth, money, and life in the right direction I would say John Soforic did a phenomenal job on writing that book. My biggest take away from that book is that “Steady Discipline is the Path to Success”.

Mark: My tip of the week is, I got Ready Player 2 by Ernest Cline, the book and an audible book. The way to really absorb it because there are so many references on it is to listen to it on 1.2x speed and read it at the same time. Be totally immersed in Ready Player 2.

Erik: Check out this book on Amazon, automate the boring stuff with Python. It is a programming language, very simple to learn, it is not overly complex. This isn’t like a quick-fix, this is not like a plug-in. This is like a long-term commitment, if you want to learn something that’s kind of translate for a while and you want to learn computer programming, then check out Python on this book: Automate the Boring Stuff with Python by Al Sweigart.

Scott: Check out remoteworkly.co, this is a synchronize video meeting you’re going to have with your team. You want to send them a message, you want to do a screen share, you want to do whatever you just go in there and put your message in there then they can reply back like giving meeting updates, etc. I can do it Sunday, Monday whenever I want. I think this is a better platform.

Pete: One book I love is Atomic Habits by James Clear, it’s so good because it really teaches you to look at what you’re doing on a daily basis and try to focus on where your built habits determining whether they’re good habits or if not good habits try to figure out a way to break that habit. It really reduces to the smallest subset. The book really does an amazing way, it has a way of looking at all of the habits.

Anthony: I also have a book that almost compliments the Atomic Habits, it’s called What Got You Here Won’t Get You There by Marshall Goldsmith. A little old book but something you can read. Instead, you focus on processes, you focus on 20 habits that are more transactional and relational that will make you more effective in those processes, and if you’re into leveling up which is the Land Geek Businesses is so much about, it’s about leveling up and you have to change if you’re going to get there. It’s these habits that you’re going to constantly tweak to get you better to make you more reflective and give you the next set of exercises so you can prepare your business for greater success.

Michelle: My tip is Tax Evasion is a crime, Tax Avoidance is not. What I mean by that is, as business owners we need to get into doing tax planning and not just at the end of the year when you see how much taxes you’re going to pay, scrambling to it to evade them. Tax Evasion is a crime, Tax Avoidance is not. Get to tax planning, it’s important.
