What Is The Most Important Factor To Keeping Your Customers Attention?

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott talk to two-time Y Combinator alum, Nathan Kontny—HighriseHQ.com. He is also the creator of the online writing software, Draftin.

Nathan shares his two biggest takeaways from being a Y Combinator, plus:

  • The importance of having a partner
  • The difference between being a founder of a start-up and taking over a more mature business.

It all comes down to the ability of running experiments. Being new to the game, you have all the room in the world to experiment to see what will work and will not. Taking over a mature business with a large customer base makes it more difficult to experiment. Most of the customers don’t want big changes, they want to keep doing the same and keep things steady. So how does he do it?

Don’t keep waiting on opportunities—Even if it doesn't work out, try it anyways and try, try again! Click To Tweet

We also delve deep into keeping your audience engrossed through communication.

Nathan explains that marketing is not a short-term game and you need to implement a communication schedule.

You’ve got to build this audience yourself and you have to keep up the momentum. It’s that connection you make that lets them know that they can depend on you and that you’re going to be there.

Listen in now as Nathan delves into his communication schedule and the best ways to keep your customers attention!

Dealing With Objectionable Buyers—Making The Most Of A Bad Situation

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income—Round Table edition, Mark is joined by:

  • Tate Litchfield
  • Erik Peterson
  • Mike Zaino
  • Cynthia Tripathi

TODAY’S TOPICS

We dive deep into a case of what would you do?

You sold a property for $50,000 on terms to a objectionable couple who are continuously late on payments but always make it up in the end with late fees. They moved the entire family onto the property, plus friends… one of which causes havoc and steals from the neighbors. Then you discover that the guy who bought the property is a felon who just got re-arrested for being in possession of firearms, but has since been released.

To sum it up—you have criminals living on a property that is still in your name and an upset community but you’re getting paid every month with late fees, on a sizable note… is it worth the headache?

COULD you do anything if they are not breaking their contract?

And finally, what can you do to protect yourself from situations like this in the future?

Our last topic: Get to know Cynthia Tripathi!

Cynthia, a Land Geek Student, came to the program a bit skeptical. She bought the toolkit, sold her 1st property to a neighbor making more money on that sale than an entire month at a job she hated. So she decided to quit her job and go all in!

This can definitely move the needle in your life if you are willing to work at it. Click To Tweet

Listen in as she shares her journey—the good and the bad, and how she feels about the program now.

How A Train Ride Led To The Ultimate Success Map

In today’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott talk to Thor Conklin—ThorConklin.com.

Thor is all about execution, peak performance and success. He is a business owner, a consultant, as well as a content-driven podcaster of the Peak Performers Podcast.

The first company Thor created was a global risk management consulting firm that served the private equity community. His top 15 clients had combined revenue of $12.7 billion and operated in over 100 countries worldwide. His background in risk management served him well when he lost 1/3 of his team in the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11. Since then he has started, bought, and sold several multi-million-dollar businesses making him a sought after, cross-industrial resource for entrepreneurs and executives in all stages of business.

He shares how a decision he made five years prior to the attack was the reason he was not at his office in the World Trade Center on 9/11.

We also delve into the value of keeping your feet moving forward, the definition of success, and how to get past frustration tolerance to move to the next level.

Thor also shares how a train ride led to his Ultimate Success Map— he goes through the steps and the terminals, backwards.

  • First stop F—you’ve got to FIGURE out what you want.
  • Next the E stop—you’ve got to come up with an EFFICIENT and an EFFECTIVE plan.
  • Then, D—you have to make a DECISION.
  • C—COMMIT.
  • The next stop is B—BELIEF systems.
  • Then finally, A—You have to take massive ACTION.

There is another stop which is the T terminal—TIME. Just because you’re starting to take massive action doesn’t mean that the results are going to show up immediately.

Nothing you’ve learned matters unless you can execute. Click To Tweet

Listen in now for all the details and a train load of value and motivation!

TIP OF THE WEEK

Mark: Become a peak performer. Learn more about Thor by going to his website at ThorConklin.com.

Scott: Check out HaveIBeenPwned.com. It helps you check if you have an account that has been compromised in a data breach.

Thor: Think of the biggest problem you have in your business or life right now. 95% of the time, what you thought of is not the root of the problem, it’s only a symptom. You’ve been working to solve the ‘problem’ but in reality, it’s just a symptom. Spend some time this week and take that symptom and start to peel away the onion. Figure out if it’s the problem or if there’s something else causing that problem. Once you solve the root problem, everything else will be solved.
